sandcastles

I was on holiday in North Wales, near the ruined castles of Criccieth, Caernarfon and Harlech, when I saw these sandcastles on the beach one morning. I ran back to get my camera so I could catch them in the early morning sun. Later that day I photographed them again as the incoming tide was starting to engulf them. I wanted to record them before they completely disappeared: a stone castle lasts for a few centuries, but a sandcastle only for a few hours.
